It was a Prom on 12th September 1997 of Verdi's Requiem. It was supposed to conducted by Sir Georg Solti in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales who died on 31st August 1997. He had then died 8 days earlier on 5th September 1997.
Sir Colin Davis took over and the performance which totally sold out was unbelievably moving. At the end there was TOTAL silence in the hall for 5 minutes before anyone applauded. It was one the most moving and extraordinary moments of my life.
