Every visit to RAH is memorable but there's no question as to our most memorable moment. We have seen the amazing Tony Bennett twice at RAH - once with a full orchestra and once with his famous 'backing band' - the Ralph Sharon Trio. It was this concert that sticks so clearly in the memory - perhaps because he was already into his 80s and perhaps because it was staggering how 4 men could fill the hall and with very little amplification. But the magic moment came when he said that RAH was the best venue in the world from a performer's point of view because of its 'class, style and atmosphere and its outstanding sound quality and acoustics.' He then proceeded to demonstrate by singing 'On the Street Where You Live' unaccompanied and without a microphone; you could have heard the proverbial pindrop.
